Job Description

Position Summary The Manager, Campus Life is responsible for the direction, supervision, administrative oversight, and operational management for the campus life office. The manager will play a critical role in strengthening the student life experience and will work with campus leadership to ensure that co-curricular and extracurricular activities align with the mission, vision, and core values of St. Louis Community College. Primary Duties Performed Oversees the day-to-day operations of the department including hiring, training, evaluating, and supervising full and part-time professional, classified, and administrative staff. Develop, implement, and assess a robust program of student-centered co-curricular activities that enhance campus life for a diverse student population. Create and regularly publish a well-balanced calendar of programs, that are developed in coordination with faculty, staff and students based on student interests, needs, and institutional mission. Develop, coordinate, and facilitate student leadership trainings, workshops, seminars, retreats, and leadership programs for all student leaders. This includes, but is not limited to student clubs and organizations, student government association, peer mentors. Create, implement, and evaluate program goals and objectives. Establish and assess measurable student learning outcomes. Enforces policies, procedures, and guidelines that support Board Policy and Administrative Procedures regarding student travel, club and organization spending, campus programming, and budget compliance. Consider issues of risk management and bring to the attention of VP, Student Engagement. Prepares, administers, and manages the operating budget and expenditures related to the department and student clubs and orgs. Monitors all Campus Activity and Student Activity budget transactions, maintains accurate fiscal records, and performs analysis and reporting to support decision-making. Manage financial transactions relative to assigned programs. Forecast funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies. Request and approve expenditures as appropriate. Prepare and administer the disbursement of Student Activities Funds; assist with the preparation and development of Student Activities Funds budgets; authorizes expenditures of funds; monitor those funds according to college guidelines, including appropriations, receipts, expenditures, and disbursement of all revenue. Including Student Government Association and student clubs and org accounts. Recruit, train and supervise all student workers, including graduate/practicum students, student interns, FWS students, and volunteers. Compile and submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports, including program/activity numbers and program/activity evaluations. Serve as a member of the STLCC Cares Team developing and following through with action plans to address student concerns. Serve on other college committees, as requested. Work with the campus VP to assist in the management of the Student Center building, including facility usage, furniture, and equipment upkeep, and maintenance needs. Monitor national trend/issues related to Campus Activities and Student Government Associations and make appropriate recommendations. Attend staff and division meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications/Experience Master's Degree from an accredited institution in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or other related discipline. Minimum of five (5) years professional experience in student activities, leadership development and/or campus programming. Experience developing, coordinating, marketing, and assessing co-curricular programs meeting the needs of a diverse student population. Working Conditions Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and is required. Must be flexible in work hours to include some evening and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
Some physical lifting, bending, pulling, standing on stepstools, walking throughout the campus will be required.
