$103,114.00 Position Summary With a focus on the student experience and student success, provides vision and strategic direction for the college libraries. Provides leadership for all aspects of library operations including program and policy development, technology adoption, collections and document management, finance, personnel, long-range planning, and facilities. Primary Duties Performed Develops, articulates, and presents the vision for the unit. Collaborates with library faculty and staff to translate the vision into strategic goals while advancing the college's mission and strategic planning objectives. Leads and supports the work of direct reports in fulfilling the vision for the libraries. Collaborates with internal and external faculty, staff, and administrators to create a library environment centered on student learning and success. Facilitates and maintains a high level of communication with the college community. Advocates for and directs the development and administration of the budgets for the unit; projects the need for new and continuing services, programs, facilities, staffing requirements, and other costs. Provides leadership and participates in the recruitment, hiring, retention, evaluation, and support of the libraries' full-time and part-time faculty and staff. Encourages and facilitates professional development opportunities for all library staff and faculty. Represents the libraries with internal groups such as college governance and leadership councils. Represents the college in state library consortia and networks; provides leadership and expertise in the design and implementation of regional library systems. Serves on college committees and task forces. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications/Experience Master's Degree from an ALA accredited program in Library/Information Science, or its equivalent. Seven (7) years of full-time library experience in higher education, including five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative experience. Experience at a community college is preferred. Experience at a large, multi-campus organization is preferred. Experience in developing and maintaining effective partnerships with other libraries and consortia is preferred. Involvement with professional associations and activities at the local, state, regional, and national levels is preferred.
Working Conditions Negligible Physical Requirements:
Generally works in an office and campus environment. Frequent travel to all campus locations required.
