2996438231-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Uncommon Schools seeks a High School Athletic Director to lead a mission-driven athletics program that supports student achievement and character development. The Director oversees all sports teams, hiring and coaching staff, scheduling practices and competitions, and ensuring compliance with league and state regulations. Responsibilities include managing budgets, coordinating facilities and transportation, promoting athlete safety, tracking academic eligibility, and engaging families and community partners. This role collaborates closely with school leadership to align athletics with a rigorous, college-prep culture and provides coaching and feedback to build strong, equitable programs. Responsibilities Lead vision and strategy for a comprehensive high school athletics program aligned to Uncommon Schools' mission. Recruit, hire, onboard, and evaluate coaches; provide ongoing coaching and professional development. Develop and manage the athletics budget, including equipment, uniforms, transportation, and facilities use. Create and maintain practice, game, and facility schedules in coordination with leagues and school leadership. Ensure compliance with league, state, and school athletic policies, eligibility rules, and safety standards. Oversee student-athlete academic eligibility, attendance, and conduct in partnership with school staff. Coordinate transportation, officials, and event operations for home and away contests. Promote a positive, inclusive, and equitable athletic culture for students and families. Manage inventory, maintenance, and safe use of athletic facilities and equipment. Track and analyze participation, performance, and program data to drive continuous improvement.
