Job Description

Community Mental Health Education Coordinator NAMI Montgomery County PA | Lansdale, PA 30 hours/week | $22-24/hour | Hybrid | Benefits Eligible NAMI Montgomery County PA is seeking an energetic, organized, and outgoing Community Mental Health Education Coordinator to help expand mental health education and awareness throughout Montgomery County. This is a community-facing position for someone who is passionate about mental health and enjoys connecting with people. You'll coordinate NAMI's mental health education programs, build relationships with schools and community partners, recruit and support program presenters, and help expand our outreach to businesses and workplaces. What You'll Do Present and coordinate NAMI mental health education programs in schools and community settings, including presenting to students and other audiences, coordinating presenters, and communicating with schools and community partners. Recruit, train, and support presenters for NAMI's Ending the Silence program. Build and maintain relationships with schools, mental health and healthcare providers, community organizations, faith communities, and other partners. Proactively identify and reach out to new community partners to expand NAMI's mental health education and outreach. Develop relationships with local businesses and employers to grow NAMI's Workplace Wellness mental health education program. Represent NAMI at community meetings, events, and networking opportunities. Track program participation, partnerships, and outcomes. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is passionate about mental health, confident speaking in front of groups, and comfortable connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate can engage students, families, community members, and professionals while taking initiative to build new relationships. You should be a strong communicator who is highly organized, dependable, and proactive . Because NAMI is a grassroots organization grounded in lived experience, candidates should have a personal connection to mental health, either through their own lived experience or through supporting a family member or loved one affected by mental illness. A high school diploma is required; a college degree is preferred. Approximately 1-3 years of experience in education, mental health, outreach, community engagement, nonprofit work, program coordination, or another people-facing role is preferred. We value initiative, communication skills, and the ability to connect with people as much as a particular degree or career path. Position Details This is a 30-hour-per-week, benefits-eligible position. Compensation is $22-$24 per hour, based on experience. The position is hybrid, with office, remote, and community-based work. Regular travel throughout Montgomery County is required, particularly to local schools. Candidates must have a reliable vehicle and be able to obtain required Pennsylvania clearances.
