Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
In conjunction with the Dean of Health and Rehabilitative Sciences, is responsible for the academic administration of the Health and Rehabilitative Science programs at a multi-campus community college.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Commitment to CCRI's Mission Commitment to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college personnel, students and the community served by the College. Work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive and student-centered environment, and with students of various learning styles, cultures, identities, and life-experiences. Actively engage on college-wide committees and other related duties as assigned. Divisional/Departmental Support Provide leadership in preparation for specialty accreditation for allied and rehabilitative health, dental, and nursing programs. Monitor national, regional and local trends in health fields - including adherence to accreditation standards - for the healthcare system and interpret the significance of such trends to the administration and faculty. Develop new programs and transfer opportunities as indicated; responsible for credit and non-credit health-related programs. Assist the dean in the selection of faculty in keeping with bargaining unit agreements; participate in the orientation of new faculty. Support the dean in the supervision of health science department chairs and additional healthcare initiative support personnel. Make recommendations to the dean regarding faculty professional development; assist in the development of promotional plans. Monitor statistics on enrollment trends and program outcomes. Analyze and interpret assessment data for healthcare initiatives. Work with Marketing & Communications to develop and promote marketing materials (e.g., brochures, web content, etc.) for health science programs. Review the following and make recommendations to the dean of health and rehabilitative sciences: teaching loads for compliance with the faculty bargaining unit agreement, promotion requests, requests for leaves of absence, and grievances. Represent CCRI institutional leadership in convening and engaging with workforce partners and key internal and external stakeholders to develop strategic partnerships, advance workforce initiatives, and support institutional priorities. Management Support the Department Chairpersons in the administration of health science programs. Facilitate the Dean's supervision of Department Chairs, including but not limited to evaluation, workload assignments, and requests for release time in compliance with faculty and adjunct collective bargaining agreements. Develop agreements with cooperating agencies for clinical and externship placements. Evaluate admission criteria for selection of students in the specific health programs; serve as a resource person in matters related to the Admissions Office, College staff and applicants. Assist in the review of faculty and department chairperson evaluations. Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in a related health field from an accredited institution Experience in data analysis, assessment, and budget preparation Experience in curriculum development, teaching, and regional and national accreditation requirements Strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated commitment to the community college mission and its diverse student populations Ability to travel to all CCRI campus locations, high school, and industry partners in Rhode Island
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Earned doctorate Minimum three years' experience in higher education administration Supervisory experience in a unionized environment All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
