Permanent Position Seeking Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician to serve as Founding Family Medicine Residency Program Director for a new ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program in

Woonsocket, Rhode Island Position Highlights:

Unique opportunity to build and lead a new Family Medicine residency program from inception

Lead all aspects of ACGME accreditation, curriculum development, faculty recruitment, resident recruitment, and program growth

Practice within a mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)

Strong focus on health equity, community medicine, and underserved populations

Blend of leadership, education, administration, and clinical practice

Opportunity to shape the next generation of Family Medicine physicians

Leadership Responsibilities:

Develop and launch a new ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program

Design competency-based clinical and didactic curriculum

Complete accreditation applications and oversee site visits

Maintain ongoing ACGME compliance and program quality

Develop resident assessment and evaluation systems

Establish and maintain specialty rotation partnerships

Lead continuous curriculum improvement initiatives

Faculty & Resident Development:

Oversee ERAS recruitment and NRMP Match process

Recruit, mentor, and supervise residency faculty

Directly supervise:
  • Two Family Medicine Faculty Physicians
  • One Behavioral Health Faculty Member
  • One Additional Faculty Member
    Foster a culture of teaching excellence and professional development
    Build a diverse and inclusive residency program
Clinical Responsibilities:

Maintain active Family Medicine practice

Eight hours weekly of direct patient care

Eight hours weekly of resident precepting

Serve as a clinical role model for community-based Family Medicine

Participate in departmental call and coverage rotation

  • 20 hours Program Director responsibilities
  • 8 hours resident precepting
  • 8 hours direct patient care

Qualifications:

MD or DO Board Certified in Family Medicine (ABFM required) Active Rhode Island medical license or eligibility Minimum 3-5 years post-residency clinical experience Experience in FQHC or community health center settings preferred Minimum 3 years of medical education experience, preferably Graduate Medical Education (GME) Documented experience teaching medical students and/or residents CORE Faculty training completed or willingness to complete Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Demonstrated commitment to health equity and community medicine
