Program Coordinator I - Snow Institute for the Study of Capitalism / Powers College of Business Full Time
JR-10660 JOB SUMMARY
This position is housed in the Snow Institute for the Study of Capitalism (SISC https://www.clemson.edu/centers-institutes/capitalism/) in the Powers College of Business. The Snow Institute focuses on the exploring the moral foundations of capitalism and is the home of the Lyceum Program ( https://www.clemson.edu/centers-institutes/capitalism/lyceum/index.html), a premier undergraduate scholarship program focused on a great books approach to studying liberty, capitalism, the American founding, and moral character. The Programs Coordinator position works with students, faculty and staff, and prospective students and parents. The person in this role will need to be able to explain and discuss the overall mission and programs of the SISC and thus strong communication skills are vital. The SISC hosts several major events each semester which require the person in this position to attend outside of normal work hours. With direction from the SISC Assistant Director(s), the Program Coordinator helps plan and execute events, assists with program research, aids in communicating to both public-facing and internal audiences, and provides support for day-to-day operations.
JOB DUTIES
15% - Marketing and Recruitment. Assists the Assistant Director(s) of the SISC in developing and implementing large-scale marketing/outreach recruitment plan for the external programs (recruiting college students from around the country and the world to attend our programs and events), the duties of which include but are not limited to: helping to create email and direct-mail campaigns; launching a program web presence; working with affiliate organizations to reach wider audiences; executing social media/digital advertising; communicating with potential applicants; and identifying new audiences for recruitment. 25% - SISC Programs. Assists the Assistant(s) Director of the SISC in coordinating and implementing SISC lectures and conferences, the duties of which include but are not limited to: arranging travel, lodging, food, and honoraria for guest speakers; promoting events via social media, the SISC website, the SISC newsletter, the Clemson University calendar, etc.; and working closely with University staff, vendors, students, and the general public to ensure efficient and smooth execution of events. 25% -
Program Related Research and Development:
Assists the Assistant Director(s) in research and writing tasks related to the Capitalism Project, the duties of which include but are not limited to: conducting academic research on topics related to capitalism and the foundations of a free society, drafting and writing short pieces that may be featured on public-facing websites, reading and editing others' written work, and coordinating with vendors such as website developers or video creation teams to implement web content. 20% - SISC Communications. Assists the Assistant Director(s) of the SISC with all SISC communications, which include but are not limited to: preparing public communications (e.g., email campaigns, social media, website) and visual content production (e.g., promotional videos); developing and implementing outreach programs (letters, mailing campaigns, other donor communications, etc.); helping write and edit the SISC newsletter; and managing the SISC's emailing and mailing lists. 15% - SISC Day-to-Day Operations. Assists the Assistant Director(s) of the SISC in day-to-day operations of the SISC, the duties of which include but are not limited to: ordering office supplies; keeping track of expenses; maintaining a digital filing system; disbursing scholarships and grants to Lyceum Scholars and other funded programs; managing databases of applicants, current students, alumni, donors, and partner organizations; identifying and implementing continuous improvements to daily operations.

INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range 54000 - 58500 Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
