Primarily Johns Island, SC Job Description The Development & Stewardship Coordinator works closely with the Director of Advancement to support donor stewardship, fundraising operations, development communications, and administrative coordination for the organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring donors, sponsors, and community supporters experience meaningful, timely, and professional engagement with the organization. The Development & Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the integrity of donor records and gift processing, coordinating acknowledgments and stewardship touchpoints, supporting donor communications, assisting with fundraising campaigns and events, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day development operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, relational, and service-oriented with strong communication skills and a passion for mission-driven work. Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred in communications, nonprofit management, marketing, business administration, or related field
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in nonprofit development, donor relations, administrative support, customer service, communications, or database management preferred.
Equivalent experience will also be considered. Qualifications/Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional Suite
Experience with CharityProud or similar CRM/database platforms preferred
Familiarity with Canva, email marketing platforms, and donor communication tools preferred
Self-motivated with the ability to anticipate needs and follow through independently

Commitment to excellent donor stewardship and follow-through Job Duties Donor Database & Gift Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and constituent records within the organization's CRM/database system
Process gifts, pledges, recurring donations, and donor updates in a timely and accurate manner
Coordinate donor acknowledgments, tax receipts, tribute notifications, and stewardship communications
Assist with monthly reconciliation and reporting processes in coordination with the finance team
Ensure data integrity and consistency through regular database audits and quality control procedures
Generate donor reports, mailing lists, giving summaries, and fundraising reports as requested
Document donor interactions, communications, and stewardship activities within the CRM system Donor Stewardship & Administrative Support
Support the execution of donor stewardship and engagement efforts across annual giving campaigns, appeals, and fundraising initiatives
Assist with preparing donor correspondence, stewardship emails, meeting materials, and follow-up communications
Coordinate donor mailings, impact reports, acknowledgment projects, and stewardship touchpoints
Support scheduling, preparation, and administrative follow-up for donor meetings and advancement activities
Maintain organized digital and physical development records and files
Assist with administrative coordination of development timelines, projects, and internal processes Communications Support
Draft and proofread donor-facing emails, acknowledgments, and fundraising communications
Assist with light content creation and basic graphic design support using Canva or similar platforms
Coordinate with the Marketing team to ensure development messaging aligns with organizational branding and campaigns
Support preparation and distribution of development-related communications, newsletters, direct mail, and campaign materials Event & Campaign Support
Provide administrative and logistical support for fundraising events, donor stewardship activities, and community engagement opportunities
Assist with RSVP tracking, sponsorship fulfillment coordination, auction or donation tracking, and post-event acknowledgments
Support campaign administration through donor tracking, reporting, and communication coordination
Assist advancement staff with preparation and follow-up related to donor cultivation and fundraising events Team & Organizational Support
Represent the organization with professionalism, warmth, and a donor-centered approach in all interactions
Support additional advancement and organizational initiatives as needed
Demonstrate commitment to the mission, values, and community impact of the organization Schedule Non-exempt, full-time employee.
Business hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with an hour lunch break. Our standard work hours may vary based upon position requirements. Additional hours may be required during peak times, which may require an adjusted work schedule, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet deadlines. All work hours above standard hours must have pre-approval of the supervisor.
