The 504 Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This position manages the identification, evaluation, planning, and implementation of accommodations for students with disabilities to ensure equal access to education. The coordinator collaborates with staff, families, and outside agencies to support student success and ensure legal compliance. The role also includes training and supporting staff in their responsibilities under Section 504.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the Section 504 process, including evaluations, eligibility determinations, plan development, and annual reviews Maintain compliance with federal and local regulations related to Section 504 Schedule and facilitate Section 504 meetings with school teams and families
Qualifications:
Current Teaching License in one of the following states:
ID, IN, ND, OK, WY.
Strong knowledge of Section 504 regulations and compliance requirements Familiarity with IDEA, ADA, and related student support legislation Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills Proficient in data management systems and digital recordkeeping Ability to facilitate collaborative meetings with diverse stakeholders Ability to analyze student data and determine appropriate accommodations Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality Commitment to equity and inclusion Strong attention to detail and follow-through
Working Conditions:
Remote work Some evening meetings or communications may be required to accommodate family schedules Frequent collaboration via phone, email, and video conferencing Ability to sit for extended periods Regular use of computer and office equipment
Physical Requirements:
