POSITION
Diabetic Education Program Manager SALARY:
$35.13 - $43.86 per hour, DOE
REPORTS TO
HHS Deputy Director
LOCATION
Diabetes Program, Nespelem, Washington
BASIC FUNCTION
This position is responsible for the management of the Special Diabetes Program for Indian (SDPI) prevention and community-driven grants to provide autonomous program direction for the prevention of diabetes, obesity and provide program services for diabetic management. Duties include, but are not limited to planning, leading, and coordinating all grant activities according to the published timelines, budget and reporting requirements. Will prepare and conduct presentation updates for the Colville Business Council, at least quarterly. Bachelor's Degree in BA or BS degree in nutrition or related field; and two years of experience required. Currently a registered dietitian or eligible for registration with the American Dietetic Association Certification in Diabetes Education. CPR Certification required MA-R certification required. Certified Diabetes Educator. Knowledge of the SDPI grant programs or similar programs. Knowledge of the customs, socio-economic environment, and special health problems of the population served to develop and implement education and intervention programs to address actual and potential health care needs. Knowledge of budget and fiscal program management. Interpersonal communication skills to engage in public relations; activities in the community, educational forums, presentations, meetings with tribal entities, and other health care agencies at the local, state, area and national levels. Knowledge and skills in leadership, negotiation, scheduling, cost control, decision-making, risk management, contract management, personnel management, critical thinking and interpersonal and communication skill.
