This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible, focusing on a single evaluation assignment in a welcoming school environment near Joliet, IL. Ideal Qualifications:
Valid Illinois teaching license and certification in visual impairment Current CTE endorsement Previous experience working in school-based settings Expertise in completing functional vision and media assessments Strong observational and communication skills Comfortable participating in classroom settings and collaborating with faculty Ability to start promptly following a successful interview
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a functional vision assessment to evaluate the student's visual abilities relevant to their educational environment Lead a media assessment to identify accessible learning formats Observe classroom routines and student interactions to gain comprehensive insights Present evaluation findings and recommendations to educational staff Participate in a single, efficient 30-minute interview process for selection This role is perfect for a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired seeking a meaningful, short-term assignment that makes a difference in a student's school journey.
