Job Description

Youth Librarian Salary:

$45,000 - $55,000, DOE Are you an energetic children's librarian ready to dream big? Join a small but mighty public library that's poised for growth-with the vision to make it happen. The West Feliciana Parish Library is seeking a creative, community-focused librarian to lead our youth services department with innovation, warmth, and a flair for fun. In this full-time role, you'll:

Design and lead engaging programming for children ages birth-17
Curate a vibrant youth collections with thoughtful selection, cataloging, and regular weeding
Collaborate with schools, caregivers, and community partners to champion literacy
Serve as a welcoming, knowledgeable resource for readers and families
Help shape the future of our library as part of a passionate, team-oriented staff We're looking for someone with:
An

MLS/MLIS

from an ALA-accredited institution

Experience working as a children's librarian (preferred)
Strong skills in programming, collection development, and reader's advisory
The ability to lead with creativity, initiative, and professional joy This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position.

Evening or weekend hours may be required depending on the program schedule. Why West Feliciana?
