What You'll Be Doing Serve Your Community as a Library Assistant at Eva Perry Regional Library in Apex! Be the heart of daily library service as a Library Assistant, where you'll help community members discover books and resources, learn new skills, and feel welcome every time they walk through the door. As a vital member of our public service team, you will create positive experiences that spark curiosity, foster learning, and strengthen connections across our community. Key Responsibilities of a

Library Assistant:

Provide Outstanding Customer Service Work directly with the public at service desks, greeting customers with warmth and professionalism. Assist patrons in locating materials, navigating the library, and understanding library policies. Connect Customers with Library Resources Issue new library cards and help patrons access their accounts. Promote library programs, services, and initiatives during customer interactions. Offer readers' advisory and reference assistance to help patrons find books, information, and digital resources. Support Technology and Digital Literacy Provide basic computer help, including assisting customers with printing, copying, and email. Guide customers in using our digital collections and online catalog. Collaborate with Your Team Work closely with managers and colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations. Contribute to a positive, supportive environment focused on exceptional service and community engagement. Assist librarians in preparing materials, setting up spaces, and supporting program delivery to help create welcoming and enriching program experiences. Schedule:

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with one night a week (Monday 12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.) and one weekend a month

•The person selected for this position must undergo a successful criminal background check and education verification, as well as submit fingerprints to the State Bureau of Investigation for a secondary criminal history record check.
