Under the supervision of the Head of Youth Services, this year-round position provides exceptional service to children and their families by implementing story times from birth to age 5, elementary school book clubs, and other library programs for children. Applicant may also be asked to help with teen programming. This person will assist in the planning, preparation, and promotion of the programs and outreach efforts. This position primarily takes place in a fast-paced and changing environment. The ideal applicant will be proficient in the use of computers, tablets, mobile devices, applications, and app stores, as well as standard office technology (software, peripherals, and public equipment). This position requires some hours working the Family Center Circulation Desk to assist patrons in finding items, placing holds, and checking out library materials. This position is 17 hours a week and includes evening and two weekend shifts per month (the first and fourth Saturdays of the month, from 10 am to 2 pm). Associate's Degree in early childhood with childcare experience preferred OR High School diploma with 2+ years experience working with children in a library, preschool, or similar environment.
