Non-Exempt Schedule:
Required hours are 8:00 am until 11:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with an additional 5 hours per week at mutually determined times. Position Overview Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered Middle School Math Support Tutor to lead students academically and spiritually. The responsibilities for this position will include Middle School advanced math assistance through tutoring and/or independent studies guidance. Courses may include Pre-Algebra, Geometry and Algebra. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction, integrate biblical truth throughout the curriculum, and partner closely with families to support student growth.Salary Range:
$35.00/hour Responsibilities- Create a safe and respectful learning environment which enhances the well-being of each student and inspires them strengthen and develop their advanced math skills.
- Integrate Scripture, prayer, and biblical worldview into daily learning.
- Utilize different strategies to meet students' skill levels, learning styles, and social/emotional needs.
- Develop programs that encourage leadership, problem-solving, and team building.
- Work closely with other classrooms and colleagues in cooperative efforts.
- Facilitate the development or revision of curriculum and instructional materials.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues, and parents/guardians to maintain an open, positive relationship.
- Participate in professional development activities, such as college course work, workshops, professional associations, and in-service opportunities.
- Attend all required staff meetings and other activities deemed necessary as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
