Candidates MUST be able to relate to students to help them gain confidence in numeracy, and make annual yearly progress, while still maintaining a conservative, classical classroom decorum. Math teachers in our academy are able to teach effectively and to mastery, rather than the next unit, district, benchmark, and state tests. This allows for students to make gains without teaching to a test, but instead being able to scaffold information from year to year as they add new numeracy skills and build confidence in math. Certification in 6-12 Math for this position, but we will accept those with a Bachelors in math, or related field that we can certify classically. Teaching at ICA is rewarding, fun, and focused on communication, consistency, and collaboration. Students are held to a high standard, and teachers are expected to teach with the understanding that developing lifelong learners requires the ability to keep the sense of wonder & inquiry in all lessons.
