Full Job Description Pay:
$47,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Job description: Position Summary The Algebra 1 / Geometry Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that prepares students for success on the Florida Algebra 1 End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment and future mathematics courses. The teacher will use data-driven instruction, differentiated teaching strategies, and engaging classroom practices to maximize student achievement while fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging Algebra 1 instruction aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards. Teach foundational algebraic concepts including expressions, equations, inequalities, linear functions, systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, quadratic functions, and data analysis. Prepare students for success on the Florida Algebra 1 End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment. Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners. Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional planning. Foster mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through meaningful learning experiences. Integrate technology, digital learning platforms, and real-world applications into mathematics instruction. Create and maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes academic excellence. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievement and classroom expectations. Collaborate with fellow teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, and support staff to improve student outcomes. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and other assigned responsibilities. Uphold school policies while maintaining high expectations for student achievement, behavior, and professionalism. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. Valid Florida Educator Certificate or eligibility for certification. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Commitment to helping students develop mathematical confidence and academic success. Ability to use differentiated instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. Preferred Qualifications Certification in Mathematics 6-12. Experience teaching Algebra 1 at the middle or high school level. Knowledge of Florida B.E.S.T. Standards and Algebra 1 End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment expectations. Experience using student performance data to inform instruction. Familiarity with educational technology and blended learning environments.
Salary:
Follows School District salary scale and referendum.
