$857 per credit Job Summary/Basic Function This position reports to the Dean of Occupational and Workforce Programs. The instructor will have the opportunity to teach in-person or remote to facilitate student learning in CAD software to achieve course learning outcomes. Instructor will convey the syllabus requirements to the students, do assessment on student work and report student grades to the registrar. Minimum Qualifications Associates Degree or higher in Computer Aided Design, Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or related degree with 30 credit hours in Computer Aided Design and Drafting specialty courses from an accredited institution. Two years' work experience in the field of design and/or engineering, directly involved with the application of CAD tools to create products, structures, machines, or tooling. Ability to integrate computer applications into teaching, ability to communicate with students remotely and effectively achieve learning outcomes through remote or in-person instruction. Capability to present information in an instructional setting and respond to questions from groups. Positive teaching style and understanding the needs of students. Commitment to quality instruction in a learner-centered Commitment to the community college mission and philosophy. Ability to provide diverse learning experiences to diverse student populations. Demonstrated skill in effective written and oral communications. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in design, or a related field. Professional experience with software packages including AutoCad, Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or other platforms utilized in technical design. Certifications in CAD software packages. Teaching experience (including on job training of co-workers). Familiarity with ISO and ANSI orthographic projections. Good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances. F127P Job Duty Instruct courses in Computer Aided Design using AutoCad, Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or other platforms utilized in technical industries. Facilitate student learning through the following activities: Develop course syllabi that share with students the expectations, standards, policies, and learning objectives of the course. Contribute to the development and delivery of assessments of course and program learning outcomes. Recognize and respond to different student learning styles and needs. Develop and use supplementary learning materials, resources, and technology. Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records. Adhere to the ethical standards of the college, the State of Michigan, the Higher Learning Commission, FERPA and other education regulations, and the welding profession. Stay abreast of developments in the fields of welding and teaching by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional development opportunities. Communicate with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders in a professional manner through the use of telephone, email, video conference, mail, and/or face-to-face communication. Work with tutors, learning assistants, or student workers as needed. Participate in professional activities such as, but not limited to, curriculum planning, syllabus writing, examination development, textbook selection, program revision, and outcome assessment.
