8-10 hours per week Description of the
Position:
(Purpose of the Position): To equip students by facilitating the learning and understanding of course material by leading SI sessions. The SI Program is accredited through the International Center for Supplemental Instruction. SI Leaders receive the designation of being certified leaders. SI Leaders are eligible for OEP credit upon completion of three semesters as a leader.

Plan, prepare and conduct SI sessions in order to best fit the needs of the students Attend regular class sessions and thoroughly familiarize self with course material Welcome feedback from staff and students in order to respond to the needs of the class Attend biweekly staff meetings and meet with Academic Success Center staff for professional development Encourage attendance and use of SI as a service to the student body Act as student liaison for the
Academic Success Center Qualifications:
(Education/Experience/Skills) Complete course or course equivalent with a B plus or higher Interest in helping other students learn Possess good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Familiarity with and an understanding of the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and identities Must be able to work 10 hours a week during the semester Must have at least one faculty recommendation from the department in question and one from a faculty or staff member of applicant's choice Must be able to attend class for assigned course This job description is for general information purposes.
