Job Description

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.



Job Summary

Holy Family Parish is seeking a passionate, faith-filled, and student-centered Math Teacher to teach grades 4-8. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, standards-based mathematics instruction that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and a love of learning. This teacher will support the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of students within a Christ-centered, inclusive classroom environment, while upholding the mission and values of the school.



Job Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate math instruction aligned with curriculum standards and school goals.

Teach concepts including number sense, operations, algebraic thinking, geometry, measurement, data analysis, and problem-solving strategies.

Incorporate real-world applications, manipulatives, technology, and hands-on activities to enhance learning.

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and accommodate multiple learning styles.

Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.

Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and communicate academic progress to parents/guardians. Classroom Environment & Management Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and respectful classroom culture that supports collaboration and active learning.

Promote student responsibility, critical thinking, and engagement in mathematics.

Ensure a safe learning environment and adhere to school policies regarding behavior management and supervision. Collaboration & Professional Engagement Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff on curriculum development, student support, and school initiatives.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.

Communicate effectively with parents, students, and school staff regarding student progress and instructional strategies. Catholic Identity & Community Participation Model and uphold the values, mission, and teachings of the Catholic Church in daily interactions.

Integrate faith and Catholic values into classroom instruction where appropriate.

Participate in school liturgies, prayer services, retreats, and service projects as part of the school community.

Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field required.

Valid teaching certification or eligibility (preferred or required depending on school/state).

Experience teaching mathematics at the elementary and/or middle school level preferred.

Strong understanding of mathematical concepts, pedagogy, and best practices in instruction.

Ability to differentiate instruction for a range of student abilities and learning styles.

Excellent classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.

Proficiency with educational technology to support instruction and student engagement.

Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and academically rigorous learning environment.

Practicing Catholic preferred, or willingness to support and uphold the mission and values of the Catholic Church.

Successful completion of background checks and diocesan Safe Environment training.
