Job Description

Senior Instructor of Mathematics at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS). Salary starts at $105,481. (Application packet must be received by 14 Sept 2026.) The purpose of this one-year post high school program is to prepare students for admission to and success at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, NY. This is a full-time, twelve-month GS-12 Department of the Army teaching position with benefits including health care, vacation and sick leave, and retirement. This is NOT a remote job. Our school year is August to May with some summer responsibilities. Responsibilities include teaching algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus daily to two sections of students, development of course materials and curriculum, evaluating curriculum, assisting students during additional instruction time, generating periodic reports on individual and collective student performance, providing recommendations for remediation and admission to USMA, maintaining classroom order and discipline, and serving on faculty committees. A minimum of a bachelor's degree with experience is required, but a master's degree or higher in mathematics education is preferred. You will be evaluated based on your level of competency (knowledge, skills, and abilities - KSAs) in the following five areas: 1. Academic Accomplishments 2. Teaching 3. Curriculum Development and Program Evaluation 4. Student Development 5.
