Full Job Description Overview:
Village Academy, located within Village Behavioral Health in Louisville, TN, is seeking a Certified High School Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position serves students in a structured, therapeutic educational setting and requires a highly skilled educator committed to supporting students with diverse academic and behavioral needs. This is a salaried position starting at: $55,000 a year.
Position Summary:
The Math Teacher is responsible for delivering standards-based instruction aligned with Tennessee state standards while supporting students in a residential treatment environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong classroom management, flexibility, and a commitment to individualized instruction.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Tennessee teaching license with high school math endorsement Experience teaching secondary math content Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and progress monitoring Ability to maintain a structured, consistent classroom environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in alternative, special education, or therapeutic settings Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and behavioral supports Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field which is eligible for teacher certification or license within the state where the facility is located is required. One or more years' experience working with population of the facility preferred. Must be knowledgeable of the developmental stages and behaviors for age group of students. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
