Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines. Teach mathematical concepts in a clear and engaging manner, utilizing a variety of instructional methods and resources. Assess student progress through regular evaluations, assignments, and standardized tests, providing timely feedback and support. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect. Differentiate instruction to meet the varying needs and learning styles of students. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in mathematics education. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and share effective teaching strategies. Supervise and support students during extracurricular activities and school events as needed. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Requirements Bachelor's degree Valid teaching certification in Mathematics for middle school level or willing to obtain a Virginia teaching license Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to students. Experience in classroom management and creating an inclusive learning environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and foster positive relationships. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning. Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
