Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Long Term Substitute Math Teacher for Prospect Heights Middle. This position requires an individual who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and helping students develop their mathematical skills. The successful candidate will take on the responsibilities of a regular classroom teacher, ensuring continuity in instruction and supporting students' academic growth during their absence. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students. Teach various mathematical concepts and skills, including but not limited to algebra, geometry, and statistics. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and class participation, providing timely feedback. Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and address any academic or behavioral challenges. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events. Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all students. Utilize technology and resources effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement. Requirements Valid teaching certification or license in Mathematics for middle school level preferred. Previous teaching experience, particularly in a middle school setting, is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and effective teaching strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to adapt instruction to meet the varying needs of students, including those with diverse learning styles. Proficient in using educational technology and tools to support instruction and learning. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
