After School Program Leader II

Job Description

This position will tentatively work 18.08 hours per week on student days plus an additional four days throughout the year. (177 days per year). The hours will be Monday-Thursday 2:10 PM - 5:30 PM and Fridays 12:45 PM- 5:30 PM.
Description:
Responsible for implementing an after program for children ages 5-10 years.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Required Pass a Criminal Background Check that Meets State and Federal Laws Valid CDA Preferred Obtain & Maintain First Aid and CPR License within two months of hire. Bilingual in English and Yup'ik preferred. Able to Lift 40 pounds Three years successful experience in early childhood or an elementary classroom and/or three years in a home visiting program required. Align with NCLB Paraprofessional Qualification Requirements (48 semester hours, an Associate's degree, or pass an approved academic competency test). Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment. Ability to carry out successfully the duties described below.
Duties:
Establishes two-way communication with community agencies and organizations that may of use to parents and children. Establish and maintain schedules, and coordinates activities for participating children. Maintains and submits required records based on department, district, and state standards. Attends meetings and trainings as scheduled. Performs other duties as assigned.
