Full Job Description Position Summary:
Brunswick's Middle School seeks an exceptional science educator for the 2026-2027 academic year as a long-term leave replacement substitute, from October 5, 2026 - November 24, 2026. We seek an educator who possesses both technical expertise and a genuine commitment to our mission of preparing boys for life through rigorous academic instruction, mentorship, and co-curricular involvement. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Teach four classes of physics, following lesson plans and curriculum aligned with Brunswick's curriculum standards and mission. Assess student learning through varied methods and provide constructive, encouraging, and corrective feedback. Be accessible to students through school-appropriate communication platforms or scheduled office hours, including arranging additional time for appointments when necessary. Serve as an advisor to a group of students, providing guidance and support. Communicate regularly with families about student progress. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
Compensation:
Competitive salary aligned with the regional independent school market Bachelor's degree in Science, Math, or a related field (Master's preferred). Strong communication and collaboration skills Physical Requirements and Work Environment Primary work in traditional classroom settings with whiteboards, technology, and student desks. Teaching schedule typically during standard school hours with additional time for preparation, grading, and meetings. Collaborative environment requiring regular interaction with students, colleagues, families, and administrators. Professional dress and conduct expected as a role model for students. Ability to stand and move around the classroom for extended periods during instruction. Ability to supervise students in various settings including classrooms, dining hall, athletic fields, and co-curricular activities.
