Job Description

Summary

Pelham Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Grade 4 Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages academic growth, creativity, and critical thinking among students. This full-time position requires a commitment to student development and collaboration with colleagues, parents, and the school community to enhance the educational experience for all learners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and national curriculum standards.
  • Create a supportive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusivity, and active participation from all students.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and observations, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities and share best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and progress.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development workshops, and community events to support the school's mission and goals.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
  • Foster a love of learning by encouraging curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking among students.
    Requirements
  • MA DESE Elementary, 1-6 License
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; a valid teaching certification for Grade 4 is required.
  • Proven experience in teaching elementary school students, preferably in a Grade 4 setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and tools to enhance learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the school community.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all students.
