Job Description

Niles Community Schools Health Teacher August 12, 2026 Full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year Reports to: High School Principal (or designee) Niles Community Schools is looking for a dynamic Health Teacher. Highly effective communication skills and professionalism are required for daily interaction with a diverse workforce, student population, building administration, and community. This position covers Niles High School, Eastside Connections, and Ring Lardner Middle School.
Required Qualifications:
Certified to teach Sex Education and HIV in the State of Michigan. Essential Duties (non-prioritized): Plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for students on the subject matter, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning methods Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction and varied teaching methods to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student Other duties as assigned Prospective employees will receive consideration without discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including sexual orientation or gender identity), disability, age (except as authorized by law), religion, military status, ancestry, or genetic information (collectively, "Protected Classes") in its educational programs or activities.
