AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM EXTENDED LEARNING TIME TEACHERS, GRADES K
  • 12 Teachers should ONLY apply to this posting if they are interested in working after-school at a school outside of their assigned school Planning hours : Week of October 13 (up to 6 hours after contractual day)
After-school Program Dates :
Elementary Schools :
start week of October 19, 2026

High Schools :
October 19
  • June 14 Actual dates and times vary by school Location, dates and times: Determined upon needs and qualifications and school day assignment
  • Candidates should apply internally at their assigned school first
  • Teachers are only eligible for openings that do not interfere with school day assignments

QUALIFICATIONS
: Candidates must hold a valid NYS teaching certification in: General Education, ENL, Special Education or content area and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher. Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum and district resources to provide academic and enrichment opportunities for students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration to provide an effective after-school program. Building administrators design after-school programs to meet the needs of students and the school.
Responsibilities include:
Provide instruction to students in Grades K
  • 12 per the school's after school program design Teacher assignments are based upon qualifications, certifications, and training Instructing students on grade-level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches, and working with students in need of academic support Homework support Qualified teachers can be assigned to teach/support programs and enrichment courses as needed, such as: Connexus online coursework CLRI programs such as My Brothers Keeper and My Sisters Keeper Specialty enrichment program Other responsibilities as determined necessary by the building administration
APPOINTMENT
: The building principals will make the appointment and select candidates who best match the recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description.
