Overview Join our vibrant team as an Afterschool Teacher and become a vital part of nurturing young minds in a dynamic, engaging environment! In this role, you will inspire children through creative activities, foster positive behavior, and support their social and emotional development. Duties Lead engaging afterschool activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction for children of various ages. Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times with proper child supervision protocols. Implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support childhood development and educational growth. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid, CPR, AED operation, and first aid protocols; respond promptly to any injuries or emergencies. Facilitate youth group activities, camp experiences, and outdoor work projects that encourage teamwork and outdoor exploration. Collaborate with team members to develop individualized support strategies for children with special education needs or behavioral challenges. Qualifications Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings. Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to foster positive behavior and discipline. Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols are required; ongoing training encouraged. Experience with special education strategies and childhood development principles is highly desirable. Ability to supervise children effectively during indoor activities, outdoor adventures, and field trips while ensuring safety at all times. Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members; Christian counseling or theater experience is a plus. Demonstrated leadership in team settings with the ability to facilitate youth programs confidently and responsibly.
