School Age Lead Teacher New Generation Daycare and Learning Center Norfolk, VA Job Details Part-time $14 - $15 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Student supervision Serving Outdoor work experience Working with students Food preparation Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Part-Time School Age Lead Teacher to join our team in the afternoons from 2:30 PM-5:30 PM . This position is responsible for providing a smooth transition from the school day to afternoon care by preparing snacks, leading engaging activities, assisting with homework when needed, and supervising school-age children until dismissal. Responsibilities Prepare and serve afternoon snacks following program guidelines. Plan and lead age-appropriate activities for school-age children, including arts and crafts, games, group activities, and recreational play. Provide homework assistance and encourage positive study habits as needed. Create a safe, nurturing, structured, and engaging environment for children. Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities. Maintain appropriate classroom management and behavior expectations. Supervise afternoon pick-up and ensure proper dismissal procedures are followed. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and management regarding student needs or concerns. Skills Experience working with school-age children preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Dependable, patient, energetic, and comfortable working with a group of children with varying ages and needs. Ability to plan and lead engaging activities independently. Must meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare facility. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and can create a fun, structured, and positive after-school environment while helping children transition from their school day to afternoon care.
Pay:
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
