Position Overview The After School Youth Development Specialist will be responsible for supervising up to 20 kids from 2-6 pm M-F. This includes creating and implementing activities, overseeing snack time, and assisting with homework. Responsibilities Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program area. Ensure inclusivity and FUN Assist with daily activities and homework support Record participation numbers for all programs/activities facilitated. Take pride in work and appearance, both personal and of the Club and program areas Ensure space, equipment and supplies are cleaned and ready before programs begin, cleaned throughout the day and at the conclusion of each day that everything is organized and well-maintained Skills and Knowledge Required A High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision. Ability and desire to work with youth ages 6-12 OR 13-18 year olds in a variety of environments, including small group and large group settings. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems. Must possess excellent verbal and written skills. Self-motivated, positive, mature, and FUN. Adaptable planner, calm, solver of problems. Able to maintain clear, healthy boundaries with kids and families. knowledge of Fine Arts a plus
