Part-Time Early Childhood Teaching Opportunities at the Child and Family Development Resource Center
The Child and Family Development Resource Center at Eastern Connecticut State University is the University's lab school and a model early childhood program for the state of Connecticut. We are seeking part-time teachers with a set schedule of 19 hours per week. Support the mission of the Child and Family Development Resource Center by providing best teaching practices to meet the needs of children and families.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director of the Child and Family Development Resource Center, the University Assistant will:
Assist in teaching young children, addressing individual needs in all areas of development, and arranging classroom and outdoor environments to meet developmental needs.
Collaborate with the classroom teaching team to plan and implement curriculum based on goals from the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood.
Demonstrate the ability to lead classroom activities (e.g., group time, story time).
Assist the classroom team in ensuring compliance with licensing regulations.
Maintain and improve professional competence by participating in monthly center-wide team meetings and professional development.
Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Completion of 12 credits in Early Childhood Education
One to two years of successful experience working with young children ages 0-5
Other Desirable Qualifications/Skills
Experience working in a laboratory school setting
Experience working with diverse populations
Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English)

University Assistant (Registrar and Collections Care)
Position Overview
The Art Gallery is seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to serve as a University Assistant supporting registrar functions and collections care. Working closely with the Gallery Director, this position will help maintain the physical and intellectual integrity of the gallery's diverse collection of artworks and support the documentation, movement, storage, and care of objects.
The position is well suited to an individual with experience in museum registration, collections management, art handling, conservation, or museum studies. Because the collection encompasses a range of media, materials, and object types, the successful candidate should be comfortable learning and applying appropriate care and handling practices to a diverse collection.
Responsibilities
Registration & Collections Management
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for artworks in the university's collection.
(We currently use The Collector's System.)
Create, update, and organize object files, condition reports, inventories, loan documentation, and other records.
Assist with the cataloguing and documentation of newly acquired or previously undocumented objects.
Track the location and movement of artworks within gallery, storage, and campus spaces.
Assist with incoming and outgoing loans, including documentation, condition reporting, packing, shipping coordination, and installation/deinstallation.
Maintain organized digital and physical collections documentation.
Assist with inventory projects and periodic collections audits.
Research and verify object information as needed, including artist, title, date, medium, dimensions, provenance, and related documentation.
Collections Care & Art Handling
Assist with the safe handling, movement, installation, deinstallation, and storage of artworks.
Conduct and maintain condition reports and photographic documentation.
Help monitor storage and exhibition environments and identify potential collections-care concerns.
Assist with appropriate packing, shelving, storage, and protection of artworks.
Support preventive conservation practices, including housekeeping and maintenance of collection storage and exhibition areas.
Identify and report damage, deterioration, environmental concerns, pest activity, or other risks to artworks.
Work with the Gallery Director and, when appropriate, outside conservators or other specialists to address collections-care needs.
General Gallery Support
Assist with exhibition preparation and installation as needed.
Coordinate with university personnel, artists, lenders, and vendors on collections- related matters.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling collection records and sensitive information.
Perform other duties related to registration, collections management, and gallery operations as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in art history, museum studies, studio art, arts administration, conservation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Previous experience in museum registration, collections management, art handling, or a related area preferred.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures.
Familiarity with basic collections-management and art-handling principles preferred.
Ability to safely handle and move artworks and collection materials.
Strong computer skills and comfort working with databases and digital records.
Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the Gallery Director and other university personnel.
Professional judgment, reliability, discretion, and a commitment to the responsible stewardship of cultural objects.
Schedule
The position requires approximately 15-19 hours per week, scheduled in consultation with the Gallery Director. Some flexibility in scheduling is preferred, particularly during exhibition installations, deinstallations, collection inventories, incoming or outgoing loans, and other time-sensitive collections activities.
This position offers an opportunity to play an important role in the stewardship and development of a university art collection, while gaining broad experience in museum registration, collections management, art handling, and preventive conservation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Dean, the College of Business Internship Coordinator uses independent analysis and judgment to develop and coordinate the internship programs and employer engagement opportunities for students in the undergraduate business programs at Eastern.
The position has two primary areas of responsibility:
1. Internship development, coordination, and administration of assessment.
2. Professional and alumni outreach and employer partnership development.
Specific Responsibilities
- Collaborate with each of the departments in the College to implement the internship policy, including working closely with the department secretaries.
- Collaborate with the Office of Career Success to coordinate all internship and student pre-professional initiatives.
- Develop partnerships with regional organizations to pursue student internship placements.
- Develop and maintain database of all internship placements within the College.
- Meet with students to direct them through the internship process.
- Develop professional and alumni opportunities around student engagement.
- Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Technical and Other Requirements - Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business discipline, required.
- Must be proficient with Office 365 suite of programs and social media applications.
- Ability to learn new programs and technologies.
- Ability to manage, track, and use data.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
Hours and Pay
This position is for 19 hours per week at an hourly rate of $25.00.
