The Sanibel Historical Museum & Village seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our museum and historic village. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in preserving Sanibel's unique heritage while supporting educational programs, volunteers, exhibits, and community events. Position Highlights Full-Time, Exempt Competitive salary commensurate with museum experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise Reports directly to the Executive Director Occasional evenings and weekends required for programs and events What You'll Do As Operations Manager, you will: Lead daily museum operations and visitor services Supervise staff, volunteers, and contractors Coordinate exhibits, educational programs, and special events Oversee facilities, historic buildings, and grounds Support fundraising events and community partnerships Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and administrative operations Help preserve and advance Sanibel's unique history and cultural heritage We're Looking For Someone Who Is

• Experienced in museum operations, cultural institutions, historic sites, or visitor-centered organizations
• Passionate about preserving and sharing history through engaging experiences
• An exceptional communicator who builds positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and visitors
• Organized, adaptable, and skilled at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Committed to providing an outstanding visitor experience while advancing the Museum's mission
• A collaborative leader who values teamwork, professionalism, and community engagement Qualifications A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and at least five years of progressively responsible leadership experience.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a museum, historical society, cultural heritage organization, or historic preservation setting, with an understanding of museum operations and a passion for preserving and sharing history.
