Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented team player to act as a Docent at the Music House Museum. The successful candidate must be friendly, engaging, be able to memorize and relate facts and stories about the instruments being shown and also be comfortable with retail Point-of-Sale, and customer service. The position is unbenefited hourly with a minimum of 16 hours per week (during the high season) giving Museum tours. Reimbursed assistance with Museum events may be requested. Other position responsibilities involve Gift Shop sales to patrons of the Museum and periodic light housekeeping of the public areas of the Museum as assigned. A high level of customer service orientation is required. The candidate must be able to successfully engage with groups of patrons of various ages and backgrounds. Prior experience with Point-of-Sale software is desirable but not required.
