Collections Manager/Special Collections Museum Curator
Job Description
Waynesburg University is seeking applicants for the position of Collections Manager/ Special Collections Museum Curator. Master's degree in Museum Studies, Library Science, Art History, Anthropology, History, or a related field with an emphasis in collections management preferred. Experience with NAGPRA compliance. One (1) year of hands-on experience in collections management, including preventive conservation and collections management database oversight. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. The Collections Manager/ Special Collections Museum Curator is responsible for managing, preserving, and interpreting rare and unique collections, including Native American collections, in accordance with professional museum standards and the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). This role involves curation, research, and public engagement to ensure the collection's integrity and accessibility. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University's Mission and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.
