K-6 Elementary Music Teacher (w/ 5th & 6th Grade Individual Band Lessons) — 1.0 FTE
POSITION
OVERVIEW
1.0 FTE K-6 Elementary Music Teacher with the ability to provide individual and small-group band instrument lessons for 5th and 6th grade students. East Marshall CSD values a strong, vibrant music program and is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled educator to contribute to it.
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS
Valid Iowa Teaching License
K-12 or K-6 Music Endorsement — Required
Demonstrated proficiency on band instrument(s) sufficient to provide individual instruction
Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) credentials
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience teaching general music at the elementary level — preferred
Experience with beginning band instruction and instrument-specific lesson delivery — preferred
Familiarity with Orff, Kodaly, or other established elementary music pedagogies — preferred
Strong classroom management and ability to engage diverse learners
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Deliver engaging, standards-aligned general music instruction for grades K-6
Provide individual or small-group band instrument lessons for 5th and 6th grade students
Plan and prepare students for school concerts and music performances
Coordinate with classroom teachers and building administration on scheduling
Build positive relationships with students, families, and community
Other duties as assigned
