As a key member of our creative arts team, you will deliver high-quality piano lessons, develop customized curricula, and foster a love for music and the arts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse learners, both typically developing and neurodivergent, to foster a love of music and understand of music foundations in early learners and beginners. All our extracurricular courses are planned from a developmental approach, utilizing the activity itself to teach foundational skills needed for each activity and to thrive in any environment. Using the principles of education and behavior analysis, instructors work with small groups of students (no more than 8 at a time) to teach foundational skills and developmental milestones. Duties Design and implement personalized piano lesson plans for early learners and beginners, focusing on teaching music foundations, listening skills, rhythm, fine motor development, continuous thought, etc. Conduct engaging group piano classes that incorporate fundamental techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills. Develop curriculum materials that align with students' goals. Manage classroom environments effectively by applying applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere. Assess student progress regularly through performances, assessments, and feedback sessions; adjust teaching methods accordingly. Collaborate with parents, guardians, or program coordinators to ensure student success and address individual needs such as special education or early childhood education requirements. Skills Experience in teaching music with a focus on piano performance and instrumental instruction. Strong curriculum development skills to create innovative lesson plans that cater to various age groups and developmental levels. Proven classroom management abilities to foster respectful, disciplined, yet inspiring learning environments. Experience working with children and youth programs; familiarity with childhood development principles is highly desirable. Experience with children with developmental and behavioral disabilities is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively with students who have special needs or require early childhood education approaches. Excellent communication skills for engaging students of all ages while providing constructive feedback and encouragement.
