Performing Arts Director Position Summary Lowell Community Charter Public School (LCCPS) seeks an enthusiastic and dependable Middle School Strings (Violin) Program Instructor to support our after-school performing arts programming. This role is ideal for college-level music students or emerging educators interested in gaining hands-on teaching experience in a dynamic urban school setting. The Assistant Instructor will work closely with the Performing Arts Director to support instruction, small-group rehearsals, student engagement, classroom management, and program logistics during twice-weekly after-school sessions held on campus. Key Responsibilities Support & lead instruction during after-school violin classes and rehearsals Work with small groups or individual students on technique, posture, rhythm, tone production, and repertoire Assist with tuning instruments and basic equipment setup/breakdown Reinforce rehearsal expectations and positive student behavior Help track attendance and student participation Support performances, showcases, and culminating events as scheduled Communicate professionally with staff and students Model professionalism, reliability, and enthusiasm for music education Qualifications Current college student or recent graduate majoring in music performance, music education, or a related field Strong violin proficiency required Ability to follow instructional direction and collaborate as part of a teaching team Dependable and punctual for twice-weekly sessions Background check clearance required Why LCCPS?
