•TOSA positions are not permanent positions and teachers hired into this role will be required to return to the classroom at the end of the special assignment.

Qualifications:

Degree in Music K-12 Instrumental, Vocal or Classroom Music education license At least 5 years experience in providing of effective instruction

Preferred:

Excellent skills in collaboration and working in partnership with teachers and administrators A mastery level of understanding of the State Standards for K-12 Music Able to manage schedules, event planning, and resources Experience maintaining, tracking, and managing instrument inventories Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across stakeholder groups Has been in MVPS for at least 3 years as a music teacher

Responsibilities:

Develop master, district-wide calendar for performance schedules and facility usage for music programs across the district Assist with organizing district-wide music events, including working with Community Education for performance facilities and schedules Work with teachers to create and maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of district-owned musical instruments Act as a liaison between music teacher PLC leads and school/district administration to ensure alignment in messaging Serve as a resource to district and building administration when developing music staffing assignments to support workable and sustainable staffing across buildings and programs
