We currently have students and teaching opportunities available and are especially interested in instructors who can teach piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, percussion, or multiple instruments. This is a part-time employee position with the opportunity to build a consistent teaching schedule. Lessons are offered both at our studio on the Durham/Chapel Hill border and in students' homes throughout the surrounding area. About the Position Our instructors provide engaging, individualized private music lessons to children, teens, and adults. The majority of our students are children and school-age learners, so we are looking for someone who enjoys helping young musicians develop their skills, confidence, creativity, and love of music. Depending on experience and interest, instructors may also have opportunities to teach small-group classes, camps, and other music programs. What We're Looking For Strong musicianship and proficiency sufficient to teach at least one of the following: piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, or percussion Ability to read music and understand music theory appropriate to the instrument(s) taught A warm, engaging, and adaptable approach to teaching Dependability, professionalism, and strong communication skills Ability to individualize instruction for different ages, abilities, learning styles, and musical interests Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to students' homes in the Durham/Chapel Hill area Availability during after-school and/or evening hours Ability to commit to a consistent teaching schedule throughout the school year Previous music teaching experience or experience working with children is preferred. Current college music students and recent graduates with strong musicianship are encouraged to apply. Compensation $23-$27 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Instructors are also paid for designated lesson planning time. Mileage support is provided for instructors teaching in students' homes. Why Good Grooves?
