Job Summary Uniontown Area School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Long-Term Music Teacher to inspire students through the transformative power of music. You will be responsible for designing engaging curricula, implementing effective lesson plans, and creating a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages exploration and confidence in musical expression. Duties Develop comprehensive music curricula tailored to students' ages and skill levels, incorporating diverse musical genres and cultural backgrounds Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that promote active participation, skill development, and enjoyment of music Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a respectful and focused learning environment Implement classroom management strategies that support individualized attention and foster inclusive participation Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school events, and student assessments to ensure cohesive educational experiences Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance instruction and engage students with interactive learning tools Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement while adhering to mandated reporting laws and school policies Qualifications Proven experience working with children in educational settings, including preschool or early childhood education environments Strong knowledge of childhood development, literacy education, math fundamentals, and special education needs such as autism spectrum disorder Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation Skilled in behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies to foster positive learning environments Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those requiring individualized instructional approaches Familiarity with early childhood education standards, school environments, and mandated reporting laws Excellent communication skills for effective parent-teacher interactions and team collaboration Proficiency with educational technologies such as computers and interactive software tools used in classroom settings Knowledge of school policies related to student safety, confidentiality, and inclusive practices Join us to make a lasting impact by nurturing young minds through music!
