Job Description
POSITION TITLE
Music Teacher (11/9/26 Estimated start date through TBD)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
To participate as a member of both a school staff and the district music team in planning and implementing learning activities for students. The music teacher will implement the district's established curriculum in music education as well as general policies and established procedures.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and work year are in accordance with the current Master Contract and salary schedule.

Building Principal
EVALUATION
Performance in this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions in the current Master Agreement between the Colchester Education Association and the School Board. Evaluation will be completed according to the guidelines defined in the district's Differentiated Evaluation Process.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.Teacher licensing requirements as defined by the VT State Department of Education, and a current endorsement in music education.
2.Demonstrated experience and commitment to integrating music and the arts in all curricula.
3.Collaborative support for the arts within schools and the community.
4.Previous teaching experience and/or performance as a musician highly desirable.
5.Commitment to the district's mission and strategic plan.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Plans, presents, and evaluates a flexible, sequential, written curriculum which appropriately addresses the abilities and interests of students.
2.Cooperates with districtwide music teachers in refining curriculum and coordinating K 12 initiatives.
3. Promotes and maintains an exciting and challenging environment in music classes and lessons.
4. Initiates new ways of thinking and problem solving.
5.Acts as a resource person to classroom teachers in planning activities which integrate music, and initiating workshops as appropriate.
6.Budgets, orders, organizes, and stores all supplies and equipment relative to the music program.
7.Attends and contributes to both school and district meetings.
8.Promotes music and arts education in the community.
9.Plans, schedules, and participates in school, district, and regional musical performances with students.
10. Demonstrates individual professional growth in both music and related teaching areas.
