This contract opportunity calls for a dedicated educator with specialized skills in adaptive physical education to support students' individual physical needs, ensuring everyone can participate in physical activity and thrive.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Valid and current Developmental/Adaptive Physical Education teaching license Experience working with students who have diverse physical and developmental abilities Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and families Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for physical education Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver customized adaptive PE lessons tailored to the needs of each student Assess students' physical strengths and challenges, adapting curriculum as needed Collaborate with special education staff, therapists, and classroom teachers to create cohesive plans Maintain accurate progress documentation and submit required reports Facilitate a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages confidence, skill development, and participation for all students Foster functional motor skills, coordination, and overall wellness in a safe, encouraging environment Experience a rewarding opportunity to inspire confidence, movement, and joy in students of all abilities.
