HFM BOCES
is seeking a dual-certified Physical Education and Health teacher to support students enrolled in our PTECH Program. This position plays a vital role in supporting student success across programs by promoting physical wellness, health literacy, and social-emotional well-being—foundations that directly support students' ability to thrive in both academic and career-focused environments. PTECH, or Pathways in Technology Early College High School, is a 6-year program that incorporates project-based learning and professional skills training as students work toward their 2-year degree from SUNY Fulton-Montgomery or SUNY Cobleskill (depending on the degree pathway) at no cost to their families. In PTECH's "innovation spaces," students focus on group collaboration and hands-on learning. Here, individuals take the lead role in their learning, choosing pathways to their careers as scholarship students. What You'll Teach and Do Deliver NYS-aligned Physical Education and Health instruction to students Design engaging, inclusive instruction that supports physical fitness, mental health, and positive lifestyle choices Promote teamwork, communication, goal-setting, and respectful behavior through physical activity Support the unique scheduling and instructional needs of students enrolled in PTECH programs Collaborate with PTECH staff, administrators, and support services to ensure a cohesive student experience Why Join

Job Qualifications Who We're Looking For NYS Certification in Physical Education and Health (Dual Certified) Experience working with secondary-level students preferred Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a teaching team Commitment to equity, student engagement, wellness, and positive school culture TEACH Clearance Per the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on the ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
