Adaptive Physical Education Teacher for a 36-week contract in Fort Worth, Texas. Teach and develop inclusive adaptive PE programs, collaborating with school staff and families to support students with IEPs. Earn up to $40 per hour with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement adaptive PE programs tailored to individual student needs based on IEPs and ARD determinations Assess student progress and adapt instruction accordingly to ensure skill development and inclusion Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success Maintain detailed documentation of student performance and program modifications in compliance with district and state regulations Participate in and contribute to IEP meetings and ARD committees, providing expertise on adaptive PE requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field Valid Texas teaching certificate with special education and/or physical education endorsements; CAPE certification preferred Minimum 1 year of experience in adaptive PE or related field with documented adaptive PE skills/knowledge PE-related certificate (All-Level PE, All-Level Health & PE, Elementary PE, Secondary PE (6-12), or Physical Education EC-12) and documented evidence of adaptive PE skills/knowledge ARD/IEP determination requiring specially designed PE instruction for students with IEPs Background check and soft skills such as adaptability, teamwork, and communication
