Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Job Description:
The Physical Sciences Department seeks a Physics Adjunct. Teaching assignments will include lecture and laboratory instruction in general physics (algebra and calculus-based).
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a Master's degree and one year of practical experience are required. The incumbent must possess a commitment to teaching excellence and knowledge of effective pedagogy, assessment techniques, and current research and practices in science education. Familiarity with the goals of a community college and a demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse and multicultural student body required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree in physics and one year of practical experience teaching physics at the secondary and/or undergraduate level strongly preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS
$ 93.84 per hour. No benefits.
