Job Description

Preschool Director Role We are seeking a warm, experienced, and dedicated Preschool Director to lead our preschool community and support a team of caring educators. The Preschool Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school, ensuring that children are safe, supported, and engaged in a high-quality early learning environment. This role combines leadership, staff development, family relationships, program administration, and a strong understanding of early childhood education. We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a preschool community, has a genuine love for working with young children, and can provide both thoughtful leadership and hands-on support to teachers and families. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the preschool, including staffing, schedules, classroom needs, and overall program organization. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to teachers and administrative staff. Build a positive, respectful, and collaborative school culture. Support teachers through regular coaching, feedback, performance evaluations, and professional development. Ensure classrooms provide safe, nurturing, age-appropriate, and engaging learning experiences. Oversee curriculum planning and implementation while supporting developmentally appropriate teaching practices. Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. Ensure compliance with all applicable preschool licensing, health, safety, and regulatory requirements. Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and families regarding their children's experiences and the preschool program. Support enrollment, admissions, and new-family onboarding. Manage program resources and assist with budgeting and purchasing decisions. Work closely with teachers to address classroom needs and support individual children's development. Organize and support family events, school activities, and community-building opportunities. Identify opportunities to improve the preschool program and overall experience for children, families, and staff. Qualifications Experience in preschool, early childhood education, or a related educational setting. Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred. Strong understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices. Experience working directly with young children in a classroom setting strongly preferred. Experience supporting, supervising, or mentoring teachers is a plus. Familiarity with preschool licensing and health and safety requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organization and time-management skills. Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience and credentials will also be considered. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is kind, dependable, organized, and confident in leading a preschool team. You should be someone who can create structure while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere, communicate effectively with families, and support teachers in providing excellent care and education. Most importantly, you should genuinely enjoy working with young children and believe in creating a preschool environment where children feel safe, loved, confident, and excited to learn. If you are an experienced early childhood professional who is ready to lead a wonderful preschool community, we would love to hear from you.
