This role encompasses a blend of administrative duties, staff management, curriculum development, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation:

Design and implement educational programs that comply with state and federal regulations, ensuring they meet the developmental needs of children.

Staff Management:

Recruit, hire, train, and supervise qualified staff members. Conduct regular performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities to maintain high teaching standards.

Facility Management:

Ensure that the childcare center is safe, clean, and well-maintained. Oversee the procurement of necessary supplies and equipment, and ensure the facility complies with all health and safety regulations.

Financial Oversight:

Develop and manage the center's budget, including setting tuition rates, monitoring expenses, and ensuring financial sustainability. Handle billing, payroll, and financial reporting.

Regulatory Compliance:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal childcare regulations. Ensure the center adheres to licensing requirements and implement policies to meet or exceed these standards.

Parent and Community Relations:

Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, addressing concerns and providing updates on their children's progress. Foster positive relationships within the community to promote the center and its programs.

Curriculum Development:

Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children.

Health and Safety:

Establish and enforce health and safety protocols, including emergency procedures. Ensure staff are trained in first aid and CPR, and that the center is prepared to handle emergencies.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

A bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is typically required. Some positions may accept an associate degree with significant experience.

Experience:

Director's certification and or Director Designee and several years of experience in early childhood education, with progressive responsibilities. Prior supervisory or administrative experience is highly desirable.

Certifications:

Current CPR and First Aid certifications are often required. Directors must also meet state-specific licensing requirements, which may include additional certifications or credentials.

Skills:

Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, financial management acumen, and a thorough understanding of child development principles.
