  • Friday): Schedule can be flexible Morning shift: 5:45AM
  • 9:00AM AND/OR Afternoon shift: 2:00PM
  • 6:00PM SACC Teacher
  • Position Summary The SACC Teacher helps create a safe, caring, and fun environment for school‑age children.
You'll support their social, emotional, and physical growth while modeling the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility . You'll also build positive relationships with parents and help children feel supported and welcomed. Essential Functions Follow all YMCA of DeKalb County policies and procedures in the Employee and Early Learning Handbooks. Understand basic child development and use developmentally appropriate practices for school‑age children. Work well in a flexible, fast‑moving environment. Supervise and guide children ages 4-12. Participate in staff meetings and trainings. Model positive interactions with children, parents, and coworkers using YMCA core values. Help support special SACC events. Follow all licensing rules and expectations. Assist with daily classroom cleaning and organization. Complete other tasks as assigned by the SACC Supervisor/Coordinator. Personal Growth — Stay open to learning, adapt to change, and use skills that help you succeed. Qualifications Prefer 2+ years of experience working with school‑age children. First Aid and CPR certification required after hiring High School Diploma required; CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree preferred. Must be at least 18 years old. Able to lift 50 lbs. Able to stay active and engaged with children throughout the day.
